Treadmill?

I start my work-out on the treadmill for 35 mins then weights for 25mins. My speed is 3 and my max incline is 5. What exactly will the treadmill do for me besides tone my legs and calves? Will it help get rid of this "pouch" I have around my lower stomach?

cardio exersizes like the treadmill does excellent things for you. it helps lower your body fat percentage. and this is the "pouch" that you're referring to.

your workout sounds kind of week. I suggest cranking it and running a little longer, OR make a plan for yourself and increase your speed and distance steadily.

doing weights mostly likely will not get rid of your pouch, just run a lot, drink lots of water, and make sure you burn off more calories than you consume.

Can I use a treadmill with a lower weight capacity?

I am planning on buying a treadmill and am on a budget. I am around 300 lbs and another person who will use it is about 350 lbs. However, almost every treadmill that isn't super expensive has weight limits from 250 to 300 lbs at most. Neither of us will be running at all on the treadmill. We will just walk probably at a range of 2 mph to 3.5 mph.

Will a lighter capacity treadmill be able to support us if we just walk?

Probably it will be OK. But the treadmill will wear out sooner and require more frequent maintenance.

What is the best treadmill out there for top speed? Are there any treadmills for sprinting?

I've been trying to find a FAST treadmill, and the ones I've been searching through get very expensive but seem to top out at 12mph. They come with all kinds of gadgets and programs that I don't care for. I just need something faster, doesn't any company make a treadmill for sprinting? I'm hoping for one that can push around 20mph. Do they even exist? This is 2007 for Pete's sake.

Maybe you should try an ellipitcal machine. It will give you less stress on your body and especially the joints. Visit Precor.com. I think they have the best machine out there.

How do I stop vibrations from a treadmill from going through the floor?

I just bought a treadmill and when it's running the vibrations bother the landlord in the apartment below me. Would putting a heavy blanket under the treadmill stop or dull the vibrations?

Just use a one inch thick rubber sheet under each contacts of the treadmill with the floor.
They will cancell out the vibrations.
Mine works fine with this installation.
Happy work out and keep fit!

How much treadmill do I need to do to lose weight?

I follow a healthy, low fat diet and have just begun to run on a treadmill at home. I typically run on the treadmill at 4-7mph for 45 minutes per session (I am a beginner). So far, I am not losing any weight. How much of this do I need to do in order to lose weight? I weigh 105pounds and my target heart rate is 98-166. Thanks.
I'm 5'3" tall

You need to tone at this point. Get off the tread mill and start with weights and then switch back to the treadmill a bit then back to the weights.

Remember muscle burns fat so at this point you need some muscle to burn off those extra pounds that you want to burn.
