Treadclimber?

I work-out regulary and I use the Treadclimber because it displayed more Calories burnt than any other machines. I try burning 500 Cal. Per walking/running session. Is the treadclimber accurate or am I just fooling myself?

"Calories burned" displays on ANY exercise machine are at best a rough approximation. There is no way for the machine to know your individual metabolism or digestive efficiency. Its easy for a machine to accurately measure the watts of power you put into pedals, footpads, or treadmill belt. However the connection from that through your personal mechanical efficiency, and the chemical efficiency of extracting energy from food going in the mouth has an awful lot of variables. Far too many to be measured with any reasonable accuracy.

You would be better served by using a heartrate monitor to compare intensity of different workouts on different equipment. It won't give you calories burned either, but it is a more direct indicator of fuel consumption. Burning fuel requires oxygen and your cardiovascular system delivers the oxygen, so higher heartrate = more calories. Tying this to an actual calorie figure would require significant time in a lab hooked up to hoses and expensive equipment to measure your VO2 max, among other things.

Bottom line, trying to measure your workout in calories is pretty much a waste of time.

Is using the treadclimber just as good as running?

I'm trying to lose weight and have started using the treadclimber machine since running hurts my ankles & knees, and the elliptical makes my toes numb after about 15 minutes. Is using the treadclimber for about 40 minutes a day just as good as running or using the elliptical? On the treadclimber, I go at about a 3.5 speed and burn about 500 calories in that 40 minutes. I'm just unsure as to whether that calorie counter is accurate.
um i do play tennis. and yes I do realize that running outside does give you fresh air. I'm not asking about that.

Treadclimbers and stairclimbers should give similar results to a treadmill. Ellipticals are still the exercise equipment of choice, due to their low impact cardio workout and upper body toning. I've only heard of users hurting their ankles on ellipticals that don't have pivoting foot pads. Rowers are also excellent since they provide a no impact cardio workout, while giving you upper body toning. Exercise bikes are also a consideration, but you won't have any upper body toning.

How can i buy a Bowflex treadclimber without using a credit card?

Try pay pal. Or get one of those Visa gift cards at the store and use that number.

Or find one on Craigslist and take your cash there.

Good luck!

Who is the chick in Bowflex Treadclimber commercial?

Chick wears a tight white sports shorts with a blackish top. Tried googling for her with no luck. Can someone help.

pervert lol

Has anyone switched from a treadmill to a TreadClimber?

This question is aimed at those that run 4-10 miles everyday. Do you really get the same workout in half the time and how hard is it on the knees?
CE2949BB--Hmmm yeah I could do that- if I wanted... which I don't. What I am interested in is the tread climber so if you have an opinion in regards to that it would be great.

real hard!
