Hey x
Well i asked my mum if i could buy some kiddy dumbells and she said what is the point when you can just lift a tin of baked beans and it works the same . But should i just use the tins or should i buy the dumbells myself ?
I would buy the dumb bells cause just incase you drop it you dont have to clean up =), Either way they both work.

What are good arm workouts to do at home with dumbells?
Hi, I play baseball and am a pitcher. I am a highschool freshman. I already go to baseball conditioning but I want to work on my arms on the days I don't have conditioning. Yes I already know that arms are not the only thing I should work on but I already work on my legs. So my question is, Are there any good exercises to do at home with dumbells to work on my arm, forearm, or shoulder for pitching? Also right now I am doing military press and forearm curls with dumbells. Will that help any?
anybody?????
anybody????

Im using dumbells on my biceps and triceps to increase my strengh?
I'm using dumbells on my biceps and triceps to increase my strength, they currently weight 22lb or 10Kg will this be efficient enough to build big strong arms? And how long would it take to see a difference?
with those weights it would probably take around a month to see a real difference

what age is recommended for a child to do weight training like barbels and dumbells?
I have a 10 yr old kid doing competetive swimming. They do not do weight training. When is it recommended for him to do weightraining using barbells and dumbells? At what age should he start doing weights?
Teen years. So, high school.
Before that, his bone structure + tendons/ligaments just aren't mature enough to handle actual weight training.
Give him at least 3 years (I'd say not until 16, even) or so, and by then his body will be ready for it. Plus, he'll be producing ample amounts of testosterone by then, and the weight training will have far more effect.

What are some good exercises to do with dumbells to tone the arms?
I want to tone my upper arm and muscles and I am currently using 5 kg dumbells with no difficulty. Are there any fitness trainers here who can give me some tips?
First, I would go up to a higher weight. If you can do 5kg easily, then it's not going to do you enough good. Our bodies our great at quickly adapting to exercises, and will soon expend less energy using the same weight. Thus, you've got to continuously increase the amount that you use. You should use enough weight so that you reach failure by your 10th or 12th rep. "Failure" means that you have expended all of your energy and are unable to complete your next rep. This is the proper way to train if you want to see results.
Your upper arms have the following major muscle groups...the biceps, triceps, and deltoids (shoulders). You need to do different exercises to train all three.
Using, dumbbells you can perform these exercises...
For biceps, do curls...standing alternating curls, seated curls, and hammer curls.
For triceps, do overhead extensions and kick-backs.
And for delts, do presses, side lateral raises, front raises, and bent-over raises.
